ABOUT

Timberwolf is the moniker for Christopher Panousakis, a singer/songwriter from Adelaide, South Australia.

Rolling Stone - "There's a lot of talk about this young Adelaide-based artist, and with good reason - his lyrics are poignant, his music captivating, his motives pure"

Timberwolf's highly anticipated and long awaited debut album Íkaros is OUT NOW.

2016 saw Timberwolf signing to US Music Publisher Third Side Music (Courtney Barnett, Flying Lotus, BadBadNotGood, Kurt Vile, Wolf Parade) as well as booking agency SELECT Music (RÜFÜS, Ball Park Music, Montaigne).

"Ever since we watched Timberwolf crack through our bleary jet-lagged eyes and ears at 2015's BigSound we knew we had to be involved in bringing Chris's amazing songs to the world. "Something That I Said" in particular has been one we've been anxiously sitting on our hands waiting to be able to share in all its heartbreaking glory. Go break up with someone right now for full effect." - ThirdSide Music

Taking a different approach to writing his first full-length record, and unlike the past, Timberwolf drew from different soundscapes and inspirations, and discovering the true meaning of vulnerability through simple songwriting and life experiences.

2015 was a breakout year for Timberwolf; he independently released his Flux EP (which has since hit over 1 million Spotify plays), performed to sold out crowds & audiences across the country at Groovin' the Moo, WOMADelaide, Big Pineapple, BIGSOUND and Woodford Folk Festivals, and topped off the year winning Best Songwriter and Best Male Artist at the South Australian Music Awards.

Since then, Timberwolf has been working hard towards finishing his 'yet to be named' debut full length record, frequenting trips between L.A, co-writing with musicians including Jim Fairchild (Modest Mouse), Tommy King (Haim, Madonna, Brandon Flowers), and The Grove Studios on Australia's Central Coast in New South Wales, where he has been recording and producing the record.

"For the first time in my life I've found a way to write music which is not fitting for any genre, but which is for the pure sake of transparency and what is unique to me. I've never been further away from anything you could call folk music and it feels great"

Tone Deaf - "One of Australia's most promising new talents"
